I use Microsoft PowerPoint on a daily basis as it is a powerful tool for presentations, visual drawings and has many other uses. It is very easy to use with some very intelligent features if you can spare sometime to learn using the product more effectively. MS PowerPoint is used by all Departments in our company as this tool comes standard with the MS Office / 365 package and the company has already designed a standard company template in MS PowerPoint for all to use. MS PowerPoint assists in presentations as it can be make presenting more understandable to the audience as well as interesting and fun at the same time. It can also be used to make quick drawings for documents due to its flexibility and ease of use.
  • Runs on a web browser
  • Easy to use
  • Has many good features such as animations and transitions
  • Is platform independent due to running on a web browser
  • Has an offline save feature in event you loose your internet connection, your can still continue working and changes will be saved once back online
  • Saves presentations in the cloud thus accessible on any device, anywhere and anytime as long as you have an internet connection
  • Limited printing features compared to desktop version
  • Desktop version is abit more smoother than the online version
  • Presenter view not available on online version
It is very well suited for both business and personal use. It is very useful in presentations and for making teaching simpler, fun and interesting.
  • Animations
  • Transitions
  • Auto Aligning features
  • Speak notes capability
  • Grid lines and rulers
  • Reduced costs since users can work on any device with a web browser
  • Simplicity due to its very similar to the desktop version
Microsoft Power is still the easiest product due to it have matured over the years and integrates well with the rest of the other MS Office products. Also since the product is very popular sharing or working together on a slide deck is simplified.

PowerPoint Online was used as a way to work on presentations with other users and present the slide deck to clients or internal stakeholders without having to have a saved version locally. The biggest issue we ran into is that many users were on linux which does not have a native application version of office. The online version was the only way we could work with these users.
  • Platform-independent. Can be used on PC, Mac, or even on mobile computing
  • Cloud application, meaning that no local storage is required to build a presentation
  • Intuitive interface, similar to the MS Office suite
  • Several of the functions that people are used to in Windows or Mac are not available
  • Feels a bit clunky - slower to insert pictures
  • Formatting was more difficult than the OS apps.
Overall PowerPoint Online is the best solution for heterogeneous environments where you have people working from different OS and machines. You don't have to worry about it working with your OS or spend time on supporting the app in too much depth, you just need a O365 account and a browser. This makes it convenient to collaborate on presentations. The downside is that the application is not as powerful as the native apps however you could edit some of it natively and upload to the online version.
  • Distributed collaboration - no need to send or share files
  • Platform independent - Office365 is all that's required
  • Similar to MS Office PowerPoint - no need to train users who have office experience
  • Reduced costs - no need to pay for higher Office licenses for all users
  • Increased efficiency - Collaboration without worrying about platform
  • Centralized location - everyone does work through browser
